It should come as no surprise that people are getting bored without sports during this COVID-19 pandemic.
So bored, in fact, that Reddit users are able to facilitate mainstream NFL trade rumors.

The Ultimate Deception
Yep, everything in that Tweet is correct. Reddit user “everyonelovesnudez”, who built fake credibility with the release of Justin Britt from Seattle, started a rumor that the Seahawks were after Myles Garrett and the deal was in serious consideration.
The user has since released his master plan that was a complete ruse from the jump.
You can read all about it right here.
In short, the guy is secretly a big fan of the Green Bay Packers.
He used his inside information on Britt to pose as a Seahawks insider and gain a following, then teased a big announcement.
One meaningless Game of Thrones-related tweet and an appearance on a sports radio station in Seattle (which can be heard below) and voila!
Frankly, the ploy is quite impressive.
It was all done as revenge from “The Fail Mary” incident during the 2012 season when replacement refs awarded the Seahawks a controversial game-winning touchdown over the Packers.
The Packers would go on to be the third seed in the NFC come playoff time, however, they would lose in San Francisco to the 49ers in the Divisional Round.
Had they won the game in Seattle, they would have had home-field advantage for that game.
But, a troll-job over Seahawks fans eight years later will have to suffice.
Myles’ Response
The Browns’ edge rusher was not silent on the matter.

It wasn’t a long response, but Garrett knew he didn’t need to address this situation with any great length.
Not every NFL player has known they were going to be traded before it happened.
Marcus Peters being blindsided by his trade from Los Angeles to Baltimore last season certainly comes to mind.
Still, the Browns have a lot of stock in Garrett since he is a number one overall draft pick.
His incident against the Steelers last year was far from great, but the team still has plenty of faith that he can remain a consistent force on the defensive front.
In fact, Charles Robinson from Yahoo Sports reported that the Browns are currently working on an extension for Garrett.
As much as I don’t want to break up the entertaining twitter brouhaha between #Browns and #Seahawks fans, Myles Garrett isn’t being traded to Seattle. Cleveland is working hard on an extension. Garrett will be shot to Mars in a rocket before he’s dealt to Seattle. Not. Happening.

More to Come?
It wouldn’t be too surprising to see more stories like this start to emerge.
They won’t all have to do with the Browns of course, and the bit will lose its novelty quickly.
Again though, things are pretty bland right now in the world of sports.
UFC is back without fans, Korean baseball is in that same boat, and other leagues are still piecing together their comeback plans.
Sports fans have plenty of time on their hands right now.
Perhaps a little too much time.
Just know that number 95 for the orange and brown won’t be playing football in other colors any time soon.
