The Cleveland Browns had the worst offense in the NFL in 2024 and scored only 15.2 points per game, so it’s no wonder that there are still holes to fill at nearly every position on that side of the ball, even after free agency.
Cleveland didn’t spend much on offensive help in free agency and will likely rely on bringing in plenty of talent in the draft to improve that side of the ball, and one promising running back prospect who they met with recently could be a nice fit.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport shared on X Monday that Arizona State star running back Cam Skattebo has recently completed visits with the Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants, and Cleveland Browns.
“Arizona St RB Cam Skattebo, who has two final Top 30 visits this week, has already visited the #AZCardinals, #Browns, and #Giants. A big-time name in a stellar group of backs.”

Skattebo had an exceptional year with the Sun Devils last season and ran for 1,711 yards and 21 touchdowns with another 605 yards and three touchdowns through the air en route to leading ASU to the College Football Playoff.
He is projected as a potential second or third-day pick despite that incredible production due to his perceived lack of breakaway speed and some concerns about his durability due to his physical running style, but he showed he can handle a heavy workload and be the centerpiece of an offense this past season.
His strengths sound a lot like Nick Chubb’s, who is the man he’d likely be replacing if the Browns decide to select him.
Chubb didn’t look as explosive this past season following his return from another brutal knee injury, and he is still a free agent while the Browns are in the market to find his predecessor.
With ten picks in the upcoming draft, it seems like a foregone conclusion that one will be used on a running back, and a good case can be made for Skattebo being the guy.
