After the week the Cleveland Browns had, a Week 9 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals was a necessity.
The team collected it with a great performance by many players, a fact that did not go unnoticed by former Browns’ linebacker Emmanuel Acho.
Acho, a sixth-round draft pick by the Browns in the 2012 NFL Draft, took to social media to share his thoughts.
“Baker Mayfield had his highest passer rating of the season today. 8 players caught passes for the #Browns, but no player had more than 3 catches.”
“The Browns win by playing selfless TEAM football. If you’re worried about your stats, the Browns aren’t the team for you. #Dawgpound.”

Acho’s Points About The Bengals Game Are Spot On
No one can argue with the fact that quarterback Baker Mayfield had his highest passer rating of the season today.
At 132.6, it was his fourth game of the season with an over 100 rating.
Before today, his highest was 122.5 in the Week 5 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.
He had 102.5 rating in the winning effort against Houston and 102.4 in the loss to Arizona.
Distribution Of The Ball
Acho’s other observation about how Mayfield spread out the ball is also true.
No receiver had more than 3 catches, and 8 different players caught Mayfield’s passes today.
The 2 passing touchdowns were also to different players.
One went to wide receiver Donovan Peoples-Jones, and the other went to tight end David Njoku.
Team Football
Today’s win over the Bengals was definitely a team win.
The defensive play was excellent and kept the Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase connection largely at bay today.
Of course, Denzel Ward came up with a big play also when Burrow and the Bengals were in the red zone in the first quarter.
Conclusion
This is just one game.
It makes a statement, but it is a brief one.
The Browns need to keep their eyes focused on the task ahead.
I don’t know if this means anything, but #Browns QB Baker Mayfield looked as purposeful as I’ve ever seen him look walking into a stadium. Let’s not forget what happened as soon as he lost Odell Beckham, Jr here in Cincy last year: 21 straight completions.

Next up is the New England Patriots.
This terrific team win that Acho alluded to will hopefully build confidence and begin a long and successful Browns winning streak.
